GROCERY SHOPPING:  Below are some of the great deals I have found on everyday and household items. NOTE: Prices noted in the deals below may vary based on your shopping city.
TOOTHPASTE for FREE: Wal-mart has Crest with Baking Soda toothpaste for 97 cents.  At least once a month Crest has a coupon in the DM Register Sunday Register.  Typically this is for 75 cents or $1.00 off.  Use it at Wal-mart and get the product for free.

TOOTHBRUSH for FREE: Wal-mart has Colgate adult size toothbrushes for 97 cents.  They are nothing fancy, but they do the job.  Watch for Colgate coupons in the DM Sunday Register for 75 cents or $1.00 off, usually available 3-4 times a year.
DEGREE DEODORANT for FREE: 3 or 4 times a year there are .75 and $1 off coupons for Degree deodorant in the DM Sunday Register. They usually do not specify a size. Take those coupons to Wal-mart and buy the travel size deodorant priced 97 cents.

IVORY SOAP for FREE: A couple of times a year, there are coupons for $1 off Ivory products.  They usually do not specify a size. Take those coupons to Wal-mart and buy the 3 pack of bar Ivory soap priced at 97 cents.
GOLD BOND LOTION for FREE: Wal-mart has Gold Bond tubes of lotion for 97 cents in the health and beauty travel section.  If you get a Gold Bond lotion coupon, use it on the travel size.  Typically this is for $1.00 off.
GOLD BOND POWDER for FREE: Wal-mart has Gold Bond powder for 97 cents in the health and beauty travel section.  If you get a Gold Bond powder coupon, use it on the travel size.  Typically this is for $1.00 off.
TIDE for FREE: This deal is especially great if you can get your hands on a large volume of Tide coupons.  Some Wal-marts carry a small 1 load Tide foil pouch in the travel size product section, usually found near health and beauty items.  Typically the price is 97 cents.  You can use any Tide coupon on this product, as long as the coupon does not specify size.  Recently I had four $1 off coupons, so I got four for free.  It’s not a high volume of laundry detergent but it does mean you can do at least one load of laundry for free!
SHOUT STAIN REMOVER for UNDER 50 CENTS: Wal-mart carries a travel size Shout Wipes product for 97 cents.  These are found in the travel product section near health and beauty items.  Several times a year the DM Sunday Register will have 55 cent off Shout coupons.  I use them on the travel size products.  Typically I keep a set of the wipes in my purse and in my desk at work.
GAIN DRYER SHEETS for 12 CENTS:  If you use Gain dryer sheets, or are not picky about the dryer sheet brand you use, check out this awesome deal.  Wal-mart carries an 80 count box of Gain dryer sheets for $3.12.  1-2 times a year, Gain offers a $3 coupon off any Gain product.  If you use that on the dryer sheets, you will only pay 12 cents.
REYNOLDS ALUMINUM FOIL FOR 22 CENTS:  During the summer, you can always find coupons for Reynolds Aluminum foil.  Usually these are for 75 cents off.  Use the coupons at Walmart on the 20 sq ft size which is only 97 cents and you can get the product for only 22 cents.
ZIPLOC BAGS: Keep an eye on the end caps at Hy-Vee.  Several times a year they have Ziploc freezer and storage bags for $1 a box. This is not an advertised sale.  It just shows up.Every month the DM Sunday Register has coupons  for 50 cents off one box or $1off two boxes. So you pay 50 cents a box after coupon.  The best part of this deal…..typically if you buy 3 or 4 boxes of Ziploc bags, the cash register at Hy-Vee gives you a coupon for $3 off your next grocery purchase!
ZIPLOC CONTAINERS: Keep an eye on the end caps at Hy-Vee.  A couple times a year, usually at least once in the fall, they have Ziploc containers for $1. This is not an advertised sale.  It just shows up.  Every month the DM Sunday Register has coupons  for 50 or 75 cents off one or $1 or $1.50 off two.  The best part of this deal…..typically if you buy 3 or 4 sets of Ziploc containers, the cash register at Hy-Vee gives you a coupon for $3 off your next grocery purchase!
HEFTY “GREEN” PRODUCE STORAGE BAGS: Keep an eye on the end caps at Hy-Vee.  Several times a year they have Hefty “green” produce storage bags for $1 a box. This is not an advertised sale.  It just shows up.  A couple times a year, the DM Sunday Register has coupons  for 50 cents off one box or $1off two boxes. So you pay 50 cents a box after coupon.  Also check for coupons on the regular Hefty bag products.  Sometimes the regular Hefty food storage bags carry a 15 cent or 25 cent coupon on the outside of the box.  You can peel that off, and use it on the “green” bags that are only $1.
GLADE PREMIUM AIR FRESHENER: Same deal as the Ziploc and Hefty bags. Watch the end caps at Hy-Vee. Normally the premium air freshener (in the curvy can) is $2.99.  Hy-Vee will sometimes have it for $1. This is not an advertised sale.  It just shows up.  I once bought 10 cans of air freshener for $2!  Because the air freshener was $1 and I had coupons for $1 off one, $2 off 2 and some 75 cents off, I got all that I could and ended up paying less than .25 cents per can.
SWIFFER WET AND DRY CLOTH REFILLS:  If you use a Swiffer or Pledge mop product that requires you to but wet and/or dry cloth refills check out Dollar Tree.  They carry a general brand of cloth refills for $1 a package.  I have found they seem to work just as well as the name brands.
MILK GALLON for $2.49:  Aldi Foods has a gallon of Skim Milk for only $2.49.  This is cheaper than any other location I have investigated.  Other varieties of milk are a little more, but it seems all milk gallons at Aldi Foods sell for less than $3.
BARILLA PASTA: I have found this pasta is cheapest at Wal-Mart. Usually when there is a coupon, I can get a box of pasta for 44 to 75 cents, depending on the amount of the coupon.  Also watch Fareway and Hy-Vee weekly sales.  They also carry Barilla pasta and have sales on it 3 or 4 times a year.
DRIED CRANBERRIES:  Dollar Tree carries a 3.5 oz bag of dried cranberries for only $1.  If you want a higher volume, I have found that Wal-mart has the best deal with a 6 oz bag of Craisins dried cranberries for $1.88.  Either of these would make a great addition to some homemade trail mix.
ASSORTED SNACKS:  Dollar Tree carries several items that are great in making your own homemade trail mix, at a fraction of cost of buying premade trail mix.  Dollar Tree offers bags of cashews, peanuts, sunflower seeds, corn nuggets (like corn nuts but less processed), generic brand of Gardetto’s snacks, and pretzels, all for $1 a bag.
MRS. FRESHLEY’S SNACKS:  Mrs. Freshley’s offers snack items similar to Little Debbies.  You can find these at Dollar Tree for $1 a box.
TORTILLA CHIPS:  Instead of buying Tostitos and paying up to $4 a bag, check out Aldi Foods’ Clancy’s Chips.  They have many varieties of tortilla chips for $1.19 to $1.69 a bag.  The bags are comparable sizes to Tostitos as well, so you don’t get cheated on the amount of product.   If you can’t buy Tostitos due to a sunflower oil allergy, good news, Clancy’s does not use sunflower oil in their white corn tortilla chip products.
FISHER MIXED NUT TOPPING for 24 CENTS:  When you get a coupon for $1 off Fisher Nuts, it usually states a size requirement of 4 oz or larger.  What you may not know, is that at Wal-mart, they carry Fisher Mixed Nut Topping for Ice Cream.  It is usually with the other ice cream toppings like caramel and fudge.  The size of the topping is 6 oz, but priced much lower than a normal Fisher Nuts can, at $1.24 to $1.67.  Use your $1 off coupon this Topping product and pay just pennies. I like this because it is easy to use not only for ice cream, but adding to stir fry, as a coating on chicken or topping on homemade cookies.
